Basava Sharana Art Gallery is a unique tribute to the great Sharana movement of 12th century Karnataka. The gallery beautifully presents vachanas, sculptures, and the timeless teachings of Basavanna through deeply immersive art experiences.
Located at the sacred confluence of Kudala Sangama and near the iconic Almatti Dam, the gallery draws families, students, scholars, and tourists from across Karnataka and beyond.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ವರ್ಣಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತರ್ಗತ ಧ್ಯಾನಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು ನಿರಂಬಳವಾಗಿ, ಹಸನ್ಮುಖರಾಗಿ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರವಿದ್ದು, ಸುತ್ತಲು ಶರಣ ಸಮೂಹ ನೆರೆದು
ಅಂತರ್ಮುಖಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರನ್ನು ಬೆರೆದು ಅಂತರ್ಮುಖಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರನ್ನು ಬೆರಗು ಗಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ವಿಕ್ಷೀಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆತ್ಮಕಲ್ಯಾಣದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ
ಅನುಭವ ಮಂಟಪದ ಮೂಲಕ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಮೊಟ್ಟಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಬುನಾದಿ ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಸವಾದಿ ಶಿವಶರಣರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಜಾತಿ, ಮತ, ಪಂಥವೆನ್ನದೇ ಸರ್ವರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ಅವಕಾಶವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು. ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ಶರಣರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾಯಕವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿ
ಬಸವಪೂರ್ವ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿನ ಭೀಕರ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಸಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮದ ಶಿಲ್ಪಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ೧೨ನೇಯ ಶತಮಾನದ ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜೀವನದ ಚಿತ್ರಣವನ್ನು ಇದು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಶತಶತಮಾನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಬದುಕುವ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳೆಯುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಸಾರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ಆಲದ ಮರದಂತೆ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು. ಮರದಿಂದ ಸಿಗುವ ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಭಯ, ಬೇಸರ, ಅಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದು, ಜ್ಞಾನ, ಧರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸುವುದು. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು 'ಸಕಲ ಜಿವಾತ್ಮರಿಗೆ ಲೇಸನ್ನೆ ಬಯಸಿದವರು'.
ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕಾದ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಜೀವನದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳಕು ಚೆಲ್ಲುವ ಹಾಗೂ ಶರಣರ ಉಬ್ಬುಶಿಲ್ಪಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರ ಹುಟ್ಟು, ಬಾಲ್ಯ, ಬಾಲಲೀಲೆ, ಗುರುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದ, ಜನಿವಾರವನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಕೂಡಲ ಸಂಗಮಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದು, ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ನಿರತರಾದದ್ದು, ಗಂಗಾAಬಿಕೆಯೊAದಿಗೆ ವಿವಾಹ, ಗುಪ್ತಲಿಪಿ ಓದುವುದು, ನಿಧಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುವುದು.
ವಿಶ್ವಗುರು ಅಣ್ಣ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು ಕ್ರಿ.ಶ. ೧೨ನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಕೀಯ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ವೈಚಾರಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಸಮಾಜದ ಏಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಅವಿರತವಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರ ಸಮಾಜೋದ್ಧಾರದ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಚನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಗೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವಣ್ಣನವರು ವಚನ ರಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾದ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶವು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರ-ಉಬ್ಬುಶಿಲ್ಪದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಳವಡಿಕೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
